I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install).The SDS's most likely do too. A small separate rechargeable coin like battery that was just to keep the clock going. Normally, they should last a least a few weeks to a few months if the main battery is dead. If the main battery is dead I've had mine work fine 6mo+ later. Your battery could just have lost it's charge most likely.fxdscon. It never had a lock, it had a text field in the display available but never functioned. There were some users that were seeing the keypad lock on the SDS100 actually functioning through the Sentinel software in the early versions. Download the file "SDS-100_V1_10_00.bin" and "SDS-100_SUB_V1._02_01.firm" and put those files on the SD card in the firmware folder. When you turn the scanner off and on it will update with the new firmware. Just received by SDS-100 was not receiving anything and was returned to Uniden. Received the unit back today and still no radio traffic. Repair that was performed was cold solder joint. Explained in my note to them have worked with radios since the 1980's. I know how to program and operate radios. Update: Here’s a video showing how to record from your SDS100 to a computer. I've never had the computer try to install a new driver in the many times I've disconnected the scanner and reconnected it, (except on the original install). The firmware update for BCD436HP, BCD536HP, SDS200, and SDS100 scanners are done with the Sentinel software.
